At Craig Wood Catering, all our menus are created with your tastes and personality in mind. Food that you like, in the peak of the season, presented in a way that everyone appreciates.

The following are actual menus that have been discussed, deliberated and chosen by the client.

Sharing platters or Grazing boards are very popular – We have numerous options and would tailor the menu to your liking

Sweet potato and ginger soup with fresh coriandor, yoghurt and cumin crusted croutons.

Roasted vine tomato and red pepper with a basil cream and chunky croutons.

Parfait of Duck and chicken livers with homemade tomato chutney and oatcakes

Terrine of chicken, apricots and almonds wrapped in bacon with a farmhouse style pickle and ciabatta croutes

Dicksons of Cockenzie traditonal smoked salmon with finely sliced banana shallots and capers, fresh lemon wedge and home made soda bread

Home cured Gradvalax with Glenkinchie whisky with a sweet and sour apple salad on a ciabatta slice

McSweens haggis in a filo basket with peppercorn cream sauce and crispy carrots

Mains Beef/Lamb

Daube of beef in a red wine, thyme and rosemary jus with horseradish scented duchess potato

Daube of beef in a rich wholegrain mustard and tarragon jus finished with heather honey, Hasselback potato and roasted carrots and peppers with sesame

Daube of beef with a red wine, tomato, roasted baby onions, bacon and button mushroom jus with creamed leek potato and spring stir fried vegetables

Duabe of beef with pot roasted shallots and garlic in a madeira jus with fondant potato and spiced red cabbage.

Rack of spring lamb on a Jersey royal crush with spring onions, minted red cabbage, roasted shallots and red wine jus

Slow braised lamb shank on a bed of mashed potatoes with oversized roasted root vegetables and redcurrant infused jus

Fillet of beef with roasted garlic, shallots and button mushrooms in a madeira and port glaze with fondant potato and spring vegetable parcel.

Fillet of beef with stilton cheese pithivier, candied shallots and port jus, celeriac mash, turned roasted carrots in olive oil.
on a bed of creamed spinach, roasted vine cherry tomatoes and red onions in olive oil with hasselback potatoe.

Chicken

Plump chicken breast filled with mozzarella, wrapped in Parma ham on a roasted red pepper and vine tomato coulis

Plump breast of chicken on a quinelle of haggis with a creamy pepper sauce

Breast of chicken on a bed of roasted shallots, garlic, cherry tomatoes with a port jus and crispy bacon

Fish

Salmon fillet on a leek mash with roast cherry tomato, white wine, Parma ham and red onion olive oil

Cod Loin on a saute potato Lyonaisse, King prawn, fresh mussel and samphire butter sauce

Crispy fried sea bass with canellini and flageolet bean casserole, fresh spinach, chive cream and crispy smoked bacon

Desserts

Sticky toffee pudding with chantilly cream and compote of summer berries

Belgian chocolate and Grand Marnier torte with white chocolate ganache, compote of oranges with star anise and vanilla anglaise

Classic sugar crusted lemon tart with fresh raspberries and mint infused whipped cream

Lemon infused syllabub in a champagne flute with summer berries and italian sponge fingers.

Classic Tiramisu with poached cherries in Amaretto with chocolate and hazelnut biscotti.

Evening Buffets

Our most popular evening buffets are based on the following:

 

Bacon/Link Sausage/Haggis/Fried Egg Rolls with HP sauce £3.95 per head

Breakfast roll buffet – Selection of Bacon, Sausage, Lorne, Tattie Scone, Haggis, Black Pudding, Egg for a build your own £5.50 per head

Homemade mini Haggis and gravy Scotch pies £1.00 each

Mini Steak and gravy pies £1.50 each

All the above include cutting and presentation of your cake if applicable along with plates and napkins

Slow roast pork shoulder carved at a hot plate by a chef, with apricot and pork stuffing, fried onions, barbecue and apple sauces, morning rolls, coleslaw and mixed salad £6.50 per head

Very popular are our evening rolling barbecue where we provide a selection of different burgers (steak, venison, lamb and mint, alomg with vegetarian falafels ) with onions, chutneys, leaves, gherkins, sauces etc which is very relaxed and continue cooking till rolls run out or 23.00.  Served in large handmade sesame seed buns  £5.50 per head.
The above prices include napkins and plates.

Mini cones of Haddock goujons, thick cut homemade chips, chunky tartare sauce and fresh lemon (£4.50 each)

Small trays of nachos with melted cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream (£3.50 each)

Canapes are in the region of £5.50 per head for a choice of 3 per person

Please note that the following prices include Food, Service, Cutlery, Crockery, Water glasses and water bottles, Condiments and VAT.

Any additional items outwith kitchen equipment, required will be arranged through a choice of caterhire companies and will be for your account.

We now have our own extensive range of portable catering equipment and the hire of the full kitchen if required is £450 including VAT at the appropriate rate.
